🗓️ Day 1: Mighty Cascades, Freedom Legends & Island Escapes
Morning: The Gateway to the East
Our epic Surigao del Sur itinerary kicks off bright and early with a heavy, fuel-boosting local breakfast. By 08:00 AM, you’ll board a comfortable, air-conditioned van for a scenic drive down south toward the coastal enclave of Bislig City.
As you cross into the city limits, we’ll make a photo-stop at the iconic I ❤️ Bislig Landmark to officially clear your camera roll for the visual feast ahead. Before noon, your stomach will be rumbling right on cue for a premium seafood lunch at a bay-side restaurant, giving you sweeping panoramic views of the Bislig coastline.

Afternoon: Chasing the Niagara Falls of the Philippines
After lunch, we leave the coast behind and head deep into the jungle. The roar of rushing river water will echo through the trees as we arrive at the crown jewel of Bislig City, Surigao del Sur: the magnificent Tinuy-an Falls!
Tinuy-an Falls by the Numbers
95 Meters Wide ── The widest waterfall in the country!
55 Meters Tall ── A dramatic, multi-tiered plunge.
Tinuy-an isn’t just a pretty face; it is a full-throttle playground. Here is how we spend the afternoon.
Trek the Upper Tiers: Strap on your water shoes and hike up the built-in flight of steel and stone stairs to explore hidden, higher-level natural pools.

The Bamboo Raft Ride: Board a traditional bamboo raft (gakit) as local guides push you directly beneath the thunderous cascade for an intense, natural water massage.
The Legend of Freedom: Know the gripping Tinuy-an Falls history. The name comes from the Cebuano word “tinuy-an” (an act intentionally done or a place intentionally visited notwithstanding how remote). Local legend says enslaved Manobo natives intentionally pushed a raft carrying their cruel masters over the cliff to win back their freedom.
Before embarking on a scenic drive to Hinatuan, grab native handicrafts, shirts and treats at the local artisan stalls. After a quick snap at the Hinatuan Landmark, we dive into aCultural Walk. You’ll stroll under the towering, century-old acacia trees of Rizal Park, view the historic St. Augustine Parish, and explore the local Doppler Radar overlooking the Hinatuan River.

Evening: Private Island Sanctuary
Later, we trade the mainland for a motorized outrigger boat. At 05:00 PM, check into your room at a stunningisland resort. Drop your bags and dive straight into the ocean for late-afternoon swimming and snorkeling among pristine sea beds, followed by a waterfront dinner.
🗓️ Day 2: Marine Encounters & The Mystical Blue Lagoon
Morning: Sharks, Rays, and Kayaks
Wake up to the sound of waves and a warm breakfast. At 08:00 AM, grab a paddle for a morning kayaking session around the island’s calm waters.

After an hour, we cruise over to the famous Sibadan Fish Cage Resort. This is not your average aquarium:
- Walk along wooden marine planks to view safely enclosed pens of local sharks and tropical fish.
- Swim with Giants: Dare to jump into the water to swim alongside massive, friendly Giant Trevally (Mamsa) and stingrays.

- Get up close and hand-feed Brenda, the resort’s iconic resident stingray!
By noon, we indulge in a heavy, energizing lunch to prep for the afternoon’s mystical main event.

Afternoon: The Magic of the Hinatuan Enchanted River
At 01:00 PM, we take a short boat transfer back to the mainland and head straight for the legendary Hinatuan Enchanted River. Tucked away in a thick limestone jungle, this short, deep spring river features a mesmerizing, sapphire-blue lagoon that looks entirely otherworldly.
Dive Into the Abyss: Swim in the refreshingly chilled, crystal-clear springwater.

Go with the Flow: Strap on a life vest, lean back, and let the gentle river current carry you downstream through the overhanging jungle canopy.

The Daily Ritual: At 03:00 PM, everyone is called out of the water for the daily fish-feeding ritual. As the hauntingly beautiful hymn of the Enchanted River plays over the speakers, massive, silvery fish materialize out of the deep, blue depths to feed.

Wrap up the afternoon with a photo next to the Enchanted Lady statue, rinse off in the clean shower amenities, and spend some time enjoying a premium coffee or milkshake while souvenir shopping. At 05:00 PM, we board our private van for a smooth, air-conditioned departure back to the city with memories to last a lifetime.
What to Pack
Don’t forget to pack extra cash (there are no ATMs in the jungle!), reef-safe sunscreen, insect repellent, swimwear and a reliable dry bag to protect your electronics from the heavy waterfall mist and river splashes.
